With short transfers from local airports including Denver International, Eagly County and Aspen Airport, it has never been easier to access the ski resorts of Colorado. The Dwight Eisenhower Memorial Tunnel between Clear Creek & Summit counties makes transfers from Denver to Breckenridge, Vail and Beaver Creek a much easier ride! It is the highest auto tunnel in the world - bored at an elevation of 11,000 feet under the Continental Divide it is 8,960 feet long and the average daily traffic exceeds 26,000 vehicles. Not too shabby!

Offering a multitude of world-class ski resorts, Colorado is a popular destination with families and beginners as well as those looking to push the boundaries and challenge themselves both on piste, in the backcountry and in some of Colorado's renound terrain parks. There are 4 terrain parks at Breckenridge alone, featuring a 22-foot half pipe! Nearby Copper Mountain is also well known for it's freeride team and terrain park.

Colorado has the highest mean altitude of all the states, and with a total of 53 fourteeners (mountains exceeding 14,000ft) the mountains in Colorado are serious peaks. The high altitude results in a super dry climate, which explains the soft, powdery snow of which the Coloradans are so proud. It also unfortunately can affect those traveling from sea level when they first arrive in resort. Avoid altitude sickness by staying properly hydrated, avoiding tobacco and alcohol and maintaining activity levels throughout the day rather than sleeping. Known as the ‘Napa Valley of Beer’, Colorado has more microbreweries per capita than any other state, making it the ideal location for enjoying new local beverages whilst soaking up the chilled apres ski atmosphere. Local microbreweries include; Breckenridge Brewery, SKA Brewing, Odell Brewing Company and Flying Dog Brewery.

Colorado is known for it's authentic mountain mining towns, and Breckenridge is the ideal spot to immerse yourself in wild west heritage whilst not forgoing the more swanky apres ski scene that the town also has to offer. Also renowned for enjoying an average of 300 days sunshine every year, there is no better place to enjoy your ski holiday than Colorado this winter!
